Santa María la Blanca was built in the 12th century and belonged to the Jews until the year 1405, when it was consecrated as a Christian church and used as a refuge for the penitence of women who repented of their sins.
The beautiful construction reflects its rich heritage. Its interior boasts five naves which are separated by 29 horseshoe arches over lime-painted brick pillars, with fancy decorations, larch coffered ceilings and plateresque altars.
