This Renaissance door with an Arab origin is also known as the Puerta de los Judíos (Jews' Gate), since it was used to get to the Jewish neighborhood of the city.
It was built again in the sixteenth century and two primitive towers were added to the existing towers, creating a new square structure with a patio in the inside.
Its original name comes from the bushes that grew around the gate, called "cambroneras" (buckthorns), and that is why the peculiar name "Cambrón" was used.
