This bridge is supported by four arches and it was built in the 14th century as part of the protective enclosure of the city, together with the Bridge of Alcántara.
The central arch is the largest of the four arches; it is pointed and is 27 meters high. Two gates or towers protect the Goth framework of the bridge.
