
Built by the Moors during the year 866 to replace a Roman bridge that was built further down the river. It was demolished in 1257 by the overflowing river but was built again by Alfonso X later that year.
The bridge is built over two round arches and a fortified round arch gate with battlements can be seen on the Western side, where another horseshoe arch is erected, decorated with a statue of San Ildefonso and a coat of arms of the Catholic Monarchs.
